Sanfrecce Hiroshima consolidated their lead at the top of the J.League table after a 4-1 win over Sagan Tosu.

Hiroshima looked good from the start with goals from Kohei Shimizu and Hisato Sato giving the home side a 2-0 lead at half time before Koji Morisaki put the game beyond doubt in the 58th minute.

Sagan got a consolation goal in injury time before Sato scored his second three minutes later to wrap up the win.

The result puts Hiroshima five points clear of second-placed Vegalta Sendai after they lost 3-1 away to Shimizu S-Pulse.

Vegalta took the lead in the 14th minute through Noaki Sugai and looked to be heading for victory before Shimizu scored three goals in the last twenty minutes to condemn the away side to their sixth loss of the season.

Third-placed Urawa Red Diamonds drew level on points with Vegalta after a 2-1 away win over Kashiwa Reysol.

In an enthralling contest Urawa had to wait until the 93rd minute for the winner with Popo proving to be the hero.

Elsewhere, Cerezo Osaka came from two goals down to defeat Vissel Kobe 3-2 while Gamba Osaka played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Kashima Antlers.

Lowly Albirex Niigata dispatched Nagoya Gramous 5-0 in a result which gives them hope of escaping the drop zone.

Consadole Sapporo's horror season continued with a 1-0 loss to Kawasaki Frontale seeing them lose for the 24th time.

In other results, Tokyo got the better of Jubilo Iwata in their 2-1 home win while Omiya Ardija and Yokohama F. Marinos played out a 0-0 draw.
