Jakub Błaszczykowski



Jakub Błaszczykowski was born in Truskolasy, Poland on 14 December 1985. Primarily a right winger, he is also able to play in central midfield and is known for his dribbling, pace, creativity and ability to keep possession of the ball under pressure.

Błaszczykowski began his football career in 1993, as a youth player for Raków Częstochowa. During his time with the club, he endured a personal tragedy, as he witnessed his father stab his mother to death. Although the incident temporarily halted his progress, he was encouraged to continue playing football by his uncle, former Poland national team captain Jerzy Brzęczek.
