Jun 13, 2013 10:52 PM GMT
Japan have arrived in Brazil ahead of their Confederations Cup match with the hosts, which kicks off the tournament in Brasilia on Saturday.
Japan are fresh from topping their World Cup qualification group and will be attempting to turn the tide on Brazil who are yet to lose to Japan in all nine of their previous meetings.
The Brazilians are also in Brasilia after they left their training camp in nearby Goiania, and will train at the Estadio Nacional which has been recently upgraded ahead of next year's World Cup finals.
Meanwhile, Mexico arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday ahead of the other Group A match this weekend, which sees them pitted against Italy on Sunday.
History also weighs against Mexico, who have emerged victorious just once in 11 attempts against Italy.
That game will test out another recently refurbished stadium, with the 78,000-seat Maracana staging the match.
