Jol: Injured Dejagah to miss Fulham run in
By Football News
Fulham manager Martin Jol says Ashkan Dejagah will miss the rest of the English Premier League season due to ankle ligament damage.
Dejagah, who signed for Fulham from Wolfsburg at the start of the season, has impressed fans with his pace and attacking intent but will require an operation to repair the damage suffered when he collided with an advertising hoarding in the 3-2 home win over Queens Park Rangers on April 1.
"Ashkan Dejagah needs an operation on his ankle ligament," Jol told reporters.
"That will be next week and I think he will be out for the rest of the season."
Jol also revealed midfielder Eyong Enoh is a doubt for their trip to Aston Villa on Saturday.
"We will do an assessment tomorrow," Jol said.
"He could probably play but we are not sure yet."
Fulham are 10th on the Premier League table, but sit just six points clear of the 16th-placed Aston Villa, and Jol wants three points to guard against his team slipping into the relegation battle.
"I feel we need another win because you never know," he said.
"Realistically we are fine but if everyone else starts winning in the last six or seven matches then you could have a problem.
"Hopefully we will get a couple of results in the next week or so. Overall we have done well away from home. There have been too many draws and even at Newcastle we could have done better. It is disappointing to concede in the 93rd minute.
"(Aston Villa) have got quality. They have (Christian) Benteke, (Gabriel) Agbonlahor, even (Darren) Bent on the bench. If you look at their results, especially at home, they are okay."
