K-League wrap: Cho at the double for Suwon, Pohang beaten
Suwon Bluewings consolidated third position in the K-League after overcoming Gyeongnam 2-1 on Wednesday.
A quick-fire double from striker Cho Dong-Geon proved the difference as Suwon recorded their third successive win during the championship round.
The South Korean international opened the scoring in the fourth minute before doubling the hosts' advantage three minutes later.
Kang Seung-Jo reduced the deficit after 34 minutes but Suwon had done enough to claim all three points and increase their stranglehold of third position, following Pohang Steelers' 2-0 defeat at home to Busan I'Park.
Pohang, who were looking to move within three points of Suwon, fell behind just five minutes into the match after Park Jong-Woo found space to unleash a shot.
The visitors capped off the performance and ended their seven-game winless run with a second goal on 82 minutes courtesy of Han Ji-Ho.
Pohang sit six points adrift of the third-placed Bluewings in fourth, while Busan are eight points further back in sixth place.
