Koke's arrival could lead to Yaya Toure exiting
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has admitted that he doesn’t mind signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke.
The Spanish defensive midfielder is out of favour at Atletico Madrid where manager Diego Simeone favours Gabi and Tiago in the middle of the park with Mario Suarez being the back-up on the bench.
If Koke, who currently watches from the stands makes a switch from the Spanish champions to the English champions, Yaya Toure might be on his way out as media continue to speculate that the Ivorian might seek new challenges elsewhere.
The news of the 23-year old Koke targeted by City will bring joy to the likes of Paris Saint German and Inter Milan who are interested in Yaya Toure.
Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini has expressed his interest in bringing Toure to Itlay, a country that the current reigning African champion could be interested playing in, after having stints in France, Spain, and England thus far on his decorated career.
The only thing that might make Toure to consider other options like France’s PSG is that Inter Milan are currently struggling in Serie A, and it is likely that they might not finish in the top 3 bracket, meaning Toure will not be able to participate in the Uefa Champions League.
Going back to Koke’s chances of going to City, the 2013-14 La Liga champion with Atletico Madrid might face a tough challenge for a spot if he joins the Citizens.
He will have to compete for a place in a team with Brazilian duo Fernando and Fernandinho, James Milner, and Yaya Toure, if the lanky man decides against leaving.
