Leonardo Bonucci



Leonardo Bonucci was born in Viterbo, Italy on 1 May 1987. Despite being a central defender, he is known for his technique, superb range of passing and ability to carry the ball forwards, which often enables quick counter attacks.

After beginning his career in Viterbese's youth academy, Bonucci was loaned to Internazionale in 2005. Initially competing in the club's under-20 team, he made his debut for the senior team at the end of the 2005-06 season and Internazionale signed him on a permanent basis in the summer of 2006. During the 2006-07 season, he failed to add to his sole league appearance for the side, although he did feature in three Coppa Italia games.
