Liga Sagres: Vitoria Guimaraes 2 Vitoria Setubal 1
A late penalty from Joao Ribeiro clinched a 2-1 win for Vitoria Guimaraes over Vitoria Setubal in a spiteful Liga Sagres clash.
Ribeiro's 80th-minute penalty after a Setubal player handled the ball in the box ensured Guimaraes' third victory in a row and moved his side into fourth in Portugal with the rest of the weekend's games still to be played.
In a goalless first half on Friday, most of the action came just before half-time when both teams lost players to red cards.
Setubal lost Brazilian defender Jorge Luiz, while the home side's Algerian forward El Arbi Hillel Soudani was also sent off.
Guimaraes took the lead in the 49th minute when a cross from the left found Marcelo Toscano free between two defenders and the Brazilian guided his header inside the far post.
Setubal struck back in the 65th minute when the home side's goalkeeper Douglas Jesus conceded a penalty and Albert Meyong scored from the spot.
But Guimaraes took all three points when Ribeiro converted a penalty with 10 minutes left.
