Liga Sagres wrap: Leal hat-trick spurs Estoril
Sep 24, 2012 10:25 PM GMT
Luis Leal scored a fine a hat-trick as Estoril defeated Maritimo 3-1 at home on Monday. Leal scored his first goals of the Liga Sagres season when he found the net in the 28th, 37th and 61st minutes at the Estadio Antonio Coimbra da Mota.
Two players were shown red cards by referee Manuel de Sousa.
Maritimo defender Ruben was sent off after four minutes while Estoril midfielder Carlitos suffered a similar fate after receiving a second yellow card in the 66th minute.
Maritimo's only joy came 11 minutes from time when Brazil striker Adilson also got off the mark with his first goal of the season.
The win moves Estoril into fifth place on the table with five points, the same number as Maritimo, who have an inferior goal difference.
In Monday's other match, Sporting CP scored twice in the final 15 minutes to grab the points from visiting Gil Vicente.
Vicente took the lead through Brazil striker Luis Carlos after the sixth minute but the match will probably best be remembered for the red card handed out to Sporting's Morocco midfielder Zakaria Labyad.
The substitute was sent off with two minutes remaining for his second bookable offence. Labyad was one of seven bookings issued by referee Vasco Santos.
Spanish midfielder Capel equalised for the home side in the 75th minute before Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel grabbed the winner five minutes from time.
Sporting moved to sixth place with the victory while Vicente are 14th.
