Ljajic fails ban appeal, Pinilla more successful
Fiorentina's Adem Ljajic has had his appeal against a two-match ban rejected, but Cagliari's Mauricio Pinilla had more luck.
Ljajic was given the punishment after being accused of insulting the officials following his side's 1-0 defeat to Roma on Saturday.
The match was full of controversy, as Fiorentina had a host of penalty shouts turned down before Pablo Osvaldo netted a late Roma winner.
Ljajic vented his anger in the tunnel after the game and saw his appeal rejected by the disciplinary commission.
Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella was also punished for insulting the officials and hit with a fine of 8400 euros, while he was warned about his future conduct.
Ljajic travelled to Rome to plead his case but was ultimately unsuccessful, although Pinilla saw his suspension reduced from three matches to two.
The Chilean forward was dismissed for a violent tackle against Udinese.
