Luka Modrić



Luka Modrić was born in Zadar, SFR Yugoslavia on 9 September 1985. A versatile playmaker, who is able to play centrally or on the wing, he can operate as an attacking midfielder, or in a more defensive midfield role. Known for his vision, creativity and technique, he is considered by many observers to be one of the best Croatian footballers of all time.

Having started his career in Zadar's youth academy, Modrić was signed by Dinamo Zagreb in 2002 and graduated to their senior team the following year. He was sent out on loan to Zrinjski Mostar for the 2003–04 season and Inter Zaprešić for the 2004-05 season, before returning to Dinamo Zagreb.
