Milan defender Philippe Mexes has received a four-match suspension for an act of violent conduct in Sunday's 3-2 Serie A loss to Juventus.
Mexes - who was sent off after receiving two yellow cards during the defeat in Turin - escaped punishment during the match for aiming a punch at Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini.
The France international tangled with Chiellini before punching him in the shoulder, and the victim called for Mexes to be banned after the match had ended.
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) have acted retrospectively, handing Mexes a three-game ban for the incident.
Coupled with Mexes' automatic one-game suspension for being sent off, the 31-year-old will now miss his side's next four Serie A matches.
Mexes is eligible for Milan's UEFA Champions League fixture against Barcelona on October 22, but will miss league clashes against Udinese, Parma, Lazio and Fiorentina.
