Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has retained his Barclays Premier League manager of the month award after masterminding four straight wins in the month of January.
The Chilean, nicknamed The Engineer, is the frist boss to net the award for consecutive months since Carlo Ancelotti did it for Chelsea in 2011.
His goal happy side found the net 14 times in the four games against Tottenham Hotspur, Cardiff City, Newcastle United and Swansea City.
Arsenal continue to lead the Barclays Premier League after City slipped up against Chelsea on Monday night, but the wins in January have kept them hot on the heels of the Gunners going into the busienss end of the season.
Adam Johnson scooped the Barclays Premier League player of the month for January after his sizzling displays fo the Black Cats.
The former City winger has been in fine form, especially in the victory over Fulham in which he bagged a superb hat-trick.
Johnson is playing his best football since joining Sunderland and his goal in the draw against Southampton took his tally for January to five.
