Pellegrini: Malaga will enjoy moment

Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini believes his side should savour the moment after defeating defending La Liga champions Real Madrid.

Two goals in three minutes from Roque Santa Cruz on Saturday helped Malaga to a 3-2 victory.

Pellegrini said his side could relax over the winter break but will need to return in January with the same commitment.

"I think the match was really equal at the beginning, in the first 20 minutes. After that Real Madrid played better than us and we realised at half-time that wasn't the way for winning the match," Pellegrini said.

"In the second half we played really well. We did better than Real Madrid. Even when we were unlucky with their second goal and the score could have been even bigger for us. The way of playing was the difference between the teams."

"The most important thing now it's tonight. We have to enjoy this moment. Our squad is not that big and the players answered hugely.

"This holiday is going to be nice because they put everything on the pitch tonight. We are going through out difficulties and the players have done this with responsibility, which is important for us. We have to come back to the training field on the second of January with the same commitment," he said.
