Gerard Pique has shared his admiration for his Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi.
The 25-year-old defender says that the way the Argentina star continues to play at the same standards despite breaking records is a credit to him and his mindset.
"Messi continues to do his thing," the Spain international told reporters.
"You can only admire it. Despite breaking records, he continues to play with the same motivation."
Pique was also unperturbed by Iker Casillas' comments about the Camp Nou side's lack of local players in the Barcelona first team a few years back.
"At the end of the day, he is the captain of Real Madrid and everything he says has weight," he said. Lionel Messi scored his 87th and 88th goal of 2012 in Barcelona's 2-0 victory away at Cordoba in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday.
