Reading pledge funds for Adkins

New Reading boss Nigel Adkins will have money to spend in the close season, according to the club's owner, Anton Zingarevich.
The former Southampton manager was appointed as Brian McDermott's successor at the Madjeski Stadium on Monday, with Zingarevich taking a swipe at his former employee for failing to utilise his January budget.
Despite Reading's Premier League status hanging in the balance, the Russian millionaire has vowed to make significant funds available to Adkins.
"I'm backing Nigel, definitely," he told talkSPORT. "So we will see what we need to do. We haven't discussed any specifics. We will wait until the end of the season and then see what needs to be done.
"I just want to say there was always a budget. And I thought we should have done more in January, definitely. I thought we should have spent more. We tried signing players but I felt we should have been more active.
"We tried to sign very big players in January but we were not successful. I thought we should have done a bit more, but we didn't."
