Ronaldo quiet over ref's 'decisions'
Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to discuss referee Gianluca Rocchi's performance in the 1-1 Champions League draw against Manchester City.
Real Madrid's Portuguese forward was seen flailing his arms about on numerous occasions when it appeared he was fouled.
"The images speak for themselves. I do not want to speak about if the referee was good or bad. The most important thing is that we have already qualified," Ronaldo said.
The draw with City means Real move to the Champions League knockout stages and Ronaldo says his side is striving for glory.
"I hope this will be the year of Real Madrid, we work for that. We know that it is going to be very difficult, but we hope we can win this year," he said.
Winger Angel Di Maria rued missed opportunities that allowed City to stay in the contest.
"Like I said, in the first half we played a great game. We had a lot of chances to score, we didn't do it and then there are things that happen, when you do not score they do, although it wasn't a penalty, but the important thing is that we are still in the Champions League," he said.
Defender Sergio Ramos agreed with Di Maria's sentiments and criticised Rocchi for the penalty decision that resulted in City's equaliser, labelling the Italian referee's performance as 'obsessive'.
"I was pretty close, but if I have to talk, not just for that decision, I think the referee was a bit obsessive in the game, and in the second half," he said.
"In the first half we could have made the result safe, we did not do it and in the second half we have suffered a lot."
