Sheffield Wednesday have signed United States defender Oguchi Onyewu on a free transfer.
Onyewu joins Wednesday after his short-term contract with another Championship side, QPR, expired this week.
The 31-year-old defender has signed a deal until the end of the season.
Onyewu's arrival comes as a further boost to Wednesday, who pulled away from the relegation zone with an emphatic 6-0 win over local rivals Leeds United on Saturday.
The Hillsborough club are now four points clear of the bottom three, having stretched their unbeaten run in the league under caretaker boss Stuart Gray to four games.
Gray could hand a debut to Onyewu when Wednesday take on high-flying Burnley next weekend.
