Kaizer Chiefs have accepted the offer made by Czech Republic club SK Slavia Prague for the left-back Keegan Ritchie, the club have confirmed on Monday.
The 23-year old has struggled to break into the Stuart Baxter’s team with former Spain-based full-back Tshepo Masilela cementing the left-back position since arriving from Getafe in 2012/2013 season.
Keegan Ritchie joined Kaizer Chiefs from Moroka Swallows in 2011-2012 campaign after a successful stint at the Dube Birds as a youngster. The Alberton-born player has only made 13 appearances for Kaizer Chiefs since arriving in 2011.
“The Amakhosi have accepted the offer from SK Slavia Prague of the Czech Republic for the services of fullback Keegan Ritchie. The move will take effect as soon as the player has agreed personal terms and signed with SK Slavia.” Kaizer Chiefs said on the statement released on Monday
The move to SK Slavia Prague, a team a club that have won 17 titles, will revive the career of Keegan Ritchie and he might bring back his hopes of representing his South Africa at an international level.
