Southampton secured their first Premier League victory of the season thanks to four second-half goals against Aston Villa. Going into the match having not won away since January, Villa took the lead through a Darren Bent from just a yard out. Rickie Lambert equalised and Nathaniel Clyne put Southampton ahead by converting Gaston Ramirez's pass. Jason Puncheon's effort hit Ciaran Clark for the third. Lambert added the fourth with a penalty.
