Niall McGinn missed a penalty for Aberdeen as they played out a 0-0 with Hibernian at Pittodrie Stadium on Sunday.
In the only highlight of what was a dour affair, Hibs keeper Ben Williams got down sharply to his right to push away McGinn's 10th-minute penalty with Aberdeen unable to find a way for the rest of the match through despite piling on the pressure.
The result leaves Hibs in fourth place on the table, three points away from a Europa League place while Aberdeen stay two points behind them in fifth.
The day's other game also failed to produce any goals as bottom-placed Dundee drew 0-0 with Kilmarnock.
Killie were the dominant side throughout the encounter with Dundee left to rely on the brilliance of goalkeeper Rab Douglas to earn a point.
The draw will do nothing to ease Dundee's relegation fears with Barry Smith's side 11 points from safety. Kilmarnock, meanwhile, drop to eighth on the table on 29 points.
