Stefan Kießling



Stefan Kießling was born in Lichtenfels, West Germany on 25 January 1984. A tall, prolific centre forward, he is known for his excellent aerial ability, his neat touches and his deadly finishing.

Kießling began his career in Eintracht Bamberg's academy, before joining Nürnberg's youth team and graduating to the senior ranks in 2003. He made his Bundesliga debut during the 2002-03 season, but was unable to make his second appearance until the 2003–04 campaign, during which Nürnberg played in the second tier. Over the course of that season, he played 14 games and scored two goals, helping the team to return to the top flight.
