Uruguay Primera Division Results: River Plate continue to win and Penarol get their first win

Danubio put a stop to Nacional's winning streak with goals from Alvez and Quinoes. Danubio have surpassed Nacional in the table by one point.
The two remaining matches for Saturday were equalisers.
Wanderers finished the first half leading 1-0 with a goal by Otreras. The tie came in the early minutes of the second half with a goal by Pastorini. The final score was 1-1.
IASA dominated the match but were unable to find the goal. In the second half Miramar improved by controlling the ball more but IASA were still dominant. The final result 0-0, benefits both teams.The one point gain by IASA and Miramar can be crucial later on in the season to avoid relegation.
Liverpool has not been able to make a comeback since their great debut against Defensor. This weekend Liverpool faced the leader of the Apertura table, River Plate and lost 2-0. River continues to be undefeated and is now solely leading the table with 12 points.
El Tanque lost the opportunity to be topping the table with River Plate. Mauricio Ruiz put Cerro Largo up by one in the beginning minutes of the second half. El Tanque's equaliser came five minutes before the whistle was blown. Santiago Lamanna scored the equaliser for El Tanque.
Cerro were the protagonist in the beginning of the match but the weather favoured Rentistas in the second half. The wind blew stronger and against Cerro. They would need to work twice as hard as their rival. At 67th-minute Gabriel Costa scored the first goal for Rentistas. A minute later the second goal was scored by Enzo Herrera.
Defensor and Penarol won their first match of the season.
In an even match, the violet began the match with a good start. Giorgian De Arrascaeta was restless in creating opportunities for Defensor but Fenix had the clearest goal scoring opportunity. At 55th-minute, a penalty was committed against De Arrascaeta and Olivera converted the penalty to win the match.
Diego Alonso got his first victory since being the Manager of Penarol. Penarol were up 3-0 with a man down and Lerda had saved a penalty in the first half.
The penalty was committed by Dario Rodriguez. The return of the aurinegro captain, only last twenty-five minutes after committing two consecutive fouls.
Rosario Martinez made two offensive changes and Racing came close to equalising. The final score was 3-2. Luis Aguiar scored two goals. Jonathan Rodriguez scored one and also assisted the first goal. Jorge Gonzalez and Mauricio Alfonso scored the goals for Racing.
