Arsenal will continue to strengthen their squad for the forth coming season according to Arsene Wenger but the Gunners manager would not comment on the progress of his clubs attempts to sign Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.
The North London club, who have had a bid of £40,000,001 rejected by The Reds, have made little progress in the way of signings this summer despite attempting to bring a number of top stars through the Emirates doors this June and July, and with the summer transfer window closing in a month, Wenger was quick to reassure fans that the club would be doings its all to improve the squad before the close of the window.
Until August 31, one month in front of us, we will try hard to strengthen our squad,” said the Frenchman, although the Emirates faithful may not be so happy with Wenger’s follow up, as he reiterated a desire to think more about the players he has at his disposal, than the players who could be in his side come September 1st.
“What is important is that we focus on the players we have,” Wenger added.
“We are not blown too much away by these stories. I understand they are interesting for people. As I told you, we will treat every transfer with the rules we have done. Fair and respectful.”
As for Suarez’ move to North London, Wenger was giving little away after his side’s impressive come from behind draw against Rafa Benitez’ Napoli side saying, “We have made a bid. All the rest I would like to keep to ourselves.”
