England registered a routine 8-0 win away to San Marino in World Cup qualifying on Friday, to keep pace with Group H leaders Montenegro.
Minnows San Marino went behind when Alessandro Della Valle put through his own net in the 12th minute at the Stadio Olimpico di Serravalle.
Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain doubled the lead on 28 minutes, with Jermain Defore, Ashley Young and Frank Lampard all scoring to earn England a 5-0 lead at half-time.
Young's effort was the highlight, the Manchester United man slamming home a long-range strike six minutes before the break.
Wayne Rooney got himself on the scoresheet nine minutes into the second half, as did substitute Daniel Sturridge, while Defoe bagged his second of the game with 12 minutes to go.
