Wozszczynski returns to the Blues
The LA Blues announced today that goalkeeper Carl Woszczynski will return to the team for a second season. Woszczynski appeared in three games for the Blues last season.
“Carl’s a very a talented goalkeeper, and we are very excited to have him be a part of the Blues this season,” said Warren Barton, the team’s general manager and technical director.
Woszczynski, 24, appeared in three games last season for the Blues. He had two shutouts and 10 saves. He made his professional debut against Antigua Barracuda, where he earned a 2-0 win. He earned USL Honorable Mention Team of the Week for his performance. Before joining the Blues in July 2012, Woszczynski spent time with Major League Soccer’s Columbus Crew. He played college soccer at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is considered one of the best goalkeepers to come through Conference USA. He was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week eight times during his career.
