5 Reasons Players Should Attend Soccer Exposure Camps
If you want to play for the best teams, attending exposure or college soccer camps will be extremely beneficial.
They may seem daunting or expensive, but the positives of these camps outweigh the negatives.
Here are five reasons you should try to go to as many of these camps as you can:
1. Helps you get your name out there
These exposure camps are just that, they get you exposure. You need to be seen by college coaches in order to get them to be interested in potentially recruiting you.
These camps will give you the opportunity to show them what you’re made of. Make a good impression.
2. Allows you to evaluate the competition
Sometimes it’s hard to get a fair perspective of how good you actually are. These camps allow you to see who you’re competing with.
You may have a lot to work on or you may be the best in camp, but you can always improve and learn from others.
3. High level soccer
These camps will be intense and will give you a taste of how hard you will have to work at the collegiate level. It can help you decide if you would even want to continuously compete at this level in college or if it’s not for you.
If you don’t enjoy the pace and work ethic involved in the camp, you likely won’t want to play in college.
4. Gaining soccer knowledge
There are usually quite a few coaches at these camps. They will be critical of your play and it will only make you better. New experiences always bring new lessons.
Be open to listening and learning from some of the smartest minds in the game and have fun. Coaches like players who are coachable so take what they tell you to work on and show them you can master it.
At these camps you not only meet coaches but other players as well. It gives you the opportunity to branch out and make connections with players from other states and sometimes even other countries.
It can be beneficial when you are looking at schools and these players are from the state that the school is in and you can ask them about the program.
There are plenty of other good reasons to attend these exposure camps, but if we really get down to it, they are just another opportunity to play the sport you love.
