Harris, on indefinite suspension since October, made a loan of less than $500 to Tide safety HaHa Clinton-Dix in June after the player's car reportedly was broken into. Clinton-Dix served a two-game suspension despite having repaid the loan, which is considered a violation of NCAA rules.
According to the Tuscaloosa News report, Alabama's compliance office during an investigation discovered Harris had ties to a sports agent, a no-no in college football. The same internal investigation found no connection between Clinton-Dix and a sports agent, leading to his reinstatement.
An Alabama official confirmed the Harris firing to the paper, but did not elaborate.
