Alshon Jeffrey is a wide receiver for the Chicago Bears. He was selected to his first Pro Bowl in 2013 and named NFL’s Most Improved Player by the Pro Football Writers Association of America.
Jeffrey was born on February 14, 1990 in St. Matthews South Carolina. While attending Calhoun County High School, he played on the school’s basketball team that went undefeated in his four years. He also spent two years playing high school football and ultimately made the choice to focus on football in college. After committing to the University of Southern California, he had a change of heart and decided to stay in his home state by attending South Carolina University.

Jeffrey played three years at South Carolina and accumulated 3,042 receiving yards throughout his collegiate career. In 2010 Jeffrey had a breakout season, he led NCAA’s Southeastern Conference in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. He was also fourth in the entire nation in the receiving yards category with 1,517 yards.
Jeffrey was selected in the second round of the 2012 draft by the Chicago Bears. In his rookie season he showed flashes of his exceptional talent with 24 receptions and three touchdowns. He followed up with a breakout season as a starter with 89 receptions for 1,421 yards. As a Pro Bowler and most improved player he’s paired with five-time Pro Bowler WR Brandon Marshall.
