A photojournalist and writer by trade, Avi Ithier obtained a bachelor’s degree in marketing from California State University San Bernardino. Avi was introduced to journalism during junior college at Antelope Valley College, where he served as a sports writer and later and sports and photo editor. During his stay at the AV Examiner he won second place for Journalism Association of Community Colleges in infographics in 2011 and 2012. He enjoys the understanding of the meaning of sports in a community’s life and enjoys writing in particular about football, mixed martial arts, and his first love of baseball. When not writing, Avi passes time behind the camera and photographing sports and daily life in his community. Avi has worked as a still photographer for multiple independent movie productions and his work has been seen at the Sundance Film Festival. No stranger to pressure and keeping in task, Avi served in the U.S. Army for 10 years. He currently lives in New Jersey.
