Bio

Busari J. Raji Jr. also known as B.J Raji is a nose tackle for the Green Bay Packers. He is a former Pro Bowler and Super Bowl Champion.

Early Life

Raji was born on July 11th 1986 in New York City but played high school football in Washington Township, New Jersey. Despite being a two-time All-Bergen County Scholastic League talent he was a two-star recruit marked by Rivals.com as a defensive tackle. Raji committed to Boston College after high school.

Boston College Eagles

Raji would play in a backup role on Boston College’s defensive line in his first year recording 6.5 tackles for a loss. In his sophomore year he became a starter in 12 games but missed the following year due to academic deficiencies. As a senior, he started all 14 games for Boston College recording 7.5 sacks and 14 tackles for a loss.

Green Bay Packers

Raji was selected as the ninth overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He experienced a rough rookie season with a lengthy contract hold-out that forced him to miss much of the off-season program. During his first season he was also hindered by an ankle injury.

In 2010, Raji bounced back starting all 16 games for the Packers, recording 6.5 sacks in addition to serving as a run-stopper in the middle of Green Bay’s defensive line. The Packers would go on to win Super Bowl XLV with Raji as a defensive force in the middle. In 2013, Raji was moved to defensive end in Dom Caper’s 3-4 base defensive alignment.
