Maarten Stekelenburg is on the verge of joining Fulham, according to AS Roma general manager Franco Baldini.
Baldini has revealed he was in London last week to negotiate the sale of the 30-year-old Holland international goalkeeper, who started out at Ajax before moving to Italy in 2011.
While Stekelenburg looks poised to switch to the Premier League, speculation regarding the prospect of team-mate Daniele De Rossi following him to England appears premature.
"I went to London to sell Stekelenburg to Fulham," Baldini told the Corriere dello Sport.
"There were many issues to be resolved. I reached an agreement subject to a number of conditions, like the player's personal demands and the medical.
"I have not done anything about De Rossi and I can't say anything."
Stekelenburg made 19 appearances for Roma last season and kept three clean sheets.
