No. 11 Auburn is coming off a huge 45-41 road win over No. 7 Texas A&M and that guy who the Heisman Trophy last season. These Tigers (6-1, 3-1 SEC) have a favorable schedule ahead with Florida Atlantic (huh?), Arkansas (3-5, 0-4), Tennessee (4-3, 1-2) and Georgia (4-3, 3-2) on the docket before welcoming Alabama to “The Jungle” for the annual Iron Bowl in the regular season finale Nov. 30.
Should LSU fail the Alabama test in early November and Alabama still is ranked No. 1, Buckeyes fans will need to add “War Eagle!” to their famous “O-H-I-O!” chant repertoire.
Alabama has won the last two Iron Bowls by a combined score of 91-14 (including last season’s 49-0 shutout) and four out of the last five editions of the rivalry (see: Nick Saban again).
