Belgian First Division: Anderlecht 1 Club Brugge 1
Apr 14, 2013 7:08 PM EST
Anderlecht's winless streak in the championship play-offs continued after they stumbled to a 1-1 draw with Club Brugge.
Congolese striker Dieumerci Mbokani cancelled out Denis Odoi's first-half own goal that had given Club Brugge the lead, in a match that saw both teams finish with 10 men on Sunday.
Club Brugge thumped Lokeren 4-1 last time out and went into the match full of confidence.
And the visitors stunned the defending champions on 28th minutes when defender Odoi turned the ball into his own.
It only got worse for Anderlecht after Odoi was shown a straight red card four minutes later.
Despite their numerical advantage, Club Brugge failed to land the decisive low and it proved costly as Mbokani levelled the scores on the hour-mark.
John van den Brom's men were given hope of ending their winless drought when Club Brugge's Belgian defender Laurens De Bock saw red for a bookable offence with eight minutes remaining but they had to settle for a share of the spoils.
Anderlecht are just one point clear of Genk atop of the standings after drawing their second match in three outings, while Club Brugge are five points off the pace in fifth position.
