Blaise Matuidi



Blaise Matuidi was born in Toulouse, Haute-Garonne on 9 April 1987. A French international midfielder, he is usually deployed in a central role, but is also able to function as a winger when required. Matuidi is mostly known for his defensive attributes, including his tackling ability, his strength and his positioning, which allows him to intercept passes and break up opposition attacks.

Matuidi spent his youth playing for various teams in the Île-de-France region and quicky developed a reputation as a talented prospect. As a result, he was invited to attend the world renowned Clairefontaine academy, where he spent three seasons between 2000 and 2003.
