Blalock Spreads Love Of Music To Area Students
In an unfortunate offseason where we hear about nothing but players being supended or arrested, the Atlanta Falcons continue to make headlines for much better reasons. Atlanta's players not only display extraordinary professionalism, but also a desire to give back to the community.
Falcons starting LG Justin Blalock finds the time to travel to area Atlanta schools in order to promote the lost art of music to students. Blalock has been involved with Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's music education intiatives for a year now and is also the spokesperson for their "When I Play Music" education campaign.
''Music is something that I've always been passionate about, even though I stopped playing at a pretty young age,'' Blalock said in a Yahoo! article on his cause. ''I've had my foundation for a while now, and I wanted to get back into music, so it seemed like the natural place to start looking for a partnership.''
Hopefully, Blalock will continue to dominate both on the Falcons offensive line as well as in the world of music education. He is a prime example of a player that is not likely to give any headaches to an NFL front office, using the stage he has been given to try to better his community.
