Brandon Allen is a quarterback for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks of the Southeastern Conference.
Allen was a highly touted recruit coming out of Fayetteville High School in Arkansas. Rivals.com ranked him as the 5th best pro-style quarterback in the country. He led Fayetteville to the 2010 Class 7A state title game as a senior. He did not throw an interception his senior season and threw for 3,408 yards and 38 touchdowns. He also ran for more than 500 yards. Allen started for three seasons in high school and threw for more than 10,000 yards.
Allen redshirted in 2011 with the Razorbacks and played in five games, starting one in 2012. His collegiate debut came against Jacksonville State in a 49-24 win for Arkansas. He was 4-7 for 33 yards in the game. On the year he completed 21 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown. Allen’s first start came against #1 Alabama where he completed 10 passes, a season-high, for 60 yards. In 2013, Allen took over the starting job as he started in all 11 games he played in as he missed the Rutgers game due to injury. In his first year starting, Allen threw for 1,552 yards. He tossed 13 touchdown passes and ran for a TD as well. The 13 touchdowns tied him for 13th place all-time in program history for TD passes in a single season. Allen threw for 282 yards and three touchdowns against #10 Texas A&M in 2013.
