3. Andre Ellington
The Cardinals wasted too many carries on the aging Rashard Mendenhall in 2013. Last season as a rookie, Andre Ellington led the NFL in yards per carry with a tasty 5.5. He's also a gifted blocker which will keep him on the field and a great pass catcher which will make him a PPR beast. Head Coach Bruce Arians said that he wants to give Ellington 30 touches per game which is nonsense but it is illustrative of what Ellington's role will be in Arizona this year.
Why he's being overlooked
Ellington ran a 4.61 at the NFL Combine which is sluggish for a starting running back, especially for one as small as he is. But scouts maintain that he's every bit as quick as any other back with pads on. Stepfan Taylor will take away goal line carries from Ellington which may be the only thing keeping him out of the top tier of fantasy running backs. If that is a trend that doesn't emerge, then we could have a Top 10 running back in Ellington.
