Britos rues Napoli mistakes
Miguel Britos believes mistakes at crucial times have scuppered Napoli's ability to challenge Juventus for the Serie A title this season.
Currently eight points behind Juve and having played a game more, the Portuguese believes his side need to improve next season in terms of tightening up on errors.
Walter Mazzarri's side were only able to pull away from their relegation-threatened opponents after the break on Saturday night and Britos believes a goal from Gokhan Inler, just a minute into the second half was crucial.
"We have made mistakes in the most important matches this season and that has allowed Juventus to escape, that's something we need to work on," he said after Napoli's 3-0 win over Pescara.
"We suffered a bit in the first half, although we had good chances to score. We managed to score right after the interval and then the game changed. We were better from then onwards."
The defender was also keen to rubbish suggestions that they had underestimated their opponents, saying they always knew it would be a tough fixture.
"I don't think we were too nervous at the beginning of the game, maybe we needed to be more clinical," he added.
"I had a good chance to score but didn't take it. We did well to not concede and then we scored at the beginning of the second half, that was important.
"We didn't underestimate our opponents in the first half. Pescara drew against Roma and they were close to a victory in that game. We were clear in our minds that it was a tough game.
"It was a bit more difficult in the first half, but I don't think we were especially flat."
