Broncos Trade For John Moffitt After Deal Voided
In an odd turn of events, John Moffitt is now a member of the Denver Broncos after the NFL voided the trade that sent him to the Cleveland Browns in exchange with the Seattle Seahawks for Brian Sanford.
Moffitt failed his physical with the Browns, and they clearly saw something they didn’t like in his knee. With their injury troubles, they certainly could’ve used him as added depth, so there must’ve been some substantial concerns with his health.
Even in light of the failed physical, Denver decided to jump in and gamble by sending DT Sealver Siliga to Seattle in exchange for Moffitt. If he’s healthy enough to play, Moffitt offers Denver some versatility along the offensive line. He can play multiple positions, and he’s added insurance in case of further injury along their offensive line.
Siliga is an undrafted free agent, and he’s only played in a single game. He probably won’t offer much if he manages to make the final roster.
Seattle must have really wanted to get rid of Moffitt. Perhaps it has something to do with his inclination for disturbing the peace at Bellevue Square Mall.
