Buckeyes Looking For A Better Showing In The 2014 Draft

Created on May. 22, 2013 6:40 AM EST

C.J. Barnett, Safety

Barnett is one of two seniors playing safety for the Buckeyes. He had 56 tackles and two interceptions last season for a solid Ohio State defense.

At 6-foot, 203 pounds, Barnett has good size to play safety at the next level. He has a reported 4.42 time in the 40, which gives him the requisite speed to roam the deep half of the field. Barnett displays good change of direction and burst on breaks. I

He was 2nd team All-Big Ten selection in 2011 and honorable mention in 2012. Against Wisconsin last season, Barnett showed his range and tackling ability. He finished the day with 11 tackles with one for a loss.

If Barnett can help lead Ohio State back into BCS contention, it will go a long way to establish himself as one of the top safety prospects in the country.
