CAF Champions League Preview: Orlando Pirates looking to stay unbeaten
By Football News
Orlando Pirates will hope to extend the only unbeaten record in the 2013 CAF Champions League when they travel to Zamalek on Sunday.
The South African side sit top of Group A having won two and drawn one of their three outings thus far, and will be confident of getting a result against opposition who have been out of sorts this term.
Since opening their campaign with a draw against fierce Egyptian rivals Al Ahly, Zamalek have been beaten twice, and were defeated 4-1 by the Pirates on August 17.
If they are to stand any chance of making it through, they will need a result at the El-Gouna Stadium, while their visitors could all-but confirm their place in the knockout stages with a positive result.
Also in Group A, Al Ahly are looking to continue their recovery from a shaky start as they take on Leopards de Dolisie.
Mohamed Youssef's side ran out 1-0 victors when the teams met in the Congo last time out, and a repeat result here would move them into the second qualification spot.
Over in Group B, leaders Esperance play Sewe at home having beaten the Ivorian side 1-0 thanks to an Oussama Darragi strike in their last outing.
And Cotonsport, who trail the Tunisian side by virtue of goal difference, must travel to Angola to take on Recreativo do Libolo - who they beat 2-1 just under two weeks ago.
Interestingly, all four teams could be poised on six points by the end of the next set of fixtures.
