Calf Injury To Sideline Saints NT Brodrick Bunkley

The New Orleans Saints defense must be a cursed group. NT Brodrick Bunkley is the latest member of their defense to go down to injury, per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Bunkley suffered a calf injury in the team’s win against the division-rival Atlanta Falcons, and he joins a number of players on the team that are on the mend. He was seen in crutches and a boot after emerging from the locker room after first suffering the injury.
Luckily for Bunkley and the Saints, his injury isn’t of the season-ending variety. While Bunkley escaped a more serious injury, he’ll still be out for several weeks. However, the Saints cannot place him on injured reserve with a designation to return because Jonathan Vilma currently occupies that tag.
Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan certainly has to be concerned with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers up next on the schedule. While the team looked shaky against the New York Jets, the team is certainly not one to overlook with RB Doug Martin and WR Vincent Jackson headlining their offense.
