New Orleans Saints corner Keenan Lewis missed practice on Tuesday while recovering from stomach pains that put him in the hospital Monday.
A source told the New Orleans Times-Picayune that Lewis was hospitalized on Monday after complaining of stomach pains. Lewis’ condition, reportedly, wasn’t serious, but doctors held him overnight for additional observation.
Lewis was released from the hospital on Tuesday and could be back at practice as soon as Wednesday.
The Saints signed Lewis, a New Orleans native, this offseason to a five-year $26.3 million deal.
Lewis spent the first four years of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He hasn’t missed a game in the past two seasons. Last season, he accumulated career high 71 combined tackles and forced a fumble.
