Henne was born on July 2, 1985 in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. As Wilson Senior High School in West Lawn, Pennsylvania, Henne was thrown into the starting lineup only five games into his freshman year. Due to his play, Henne earned the starting QB spot for his remaining three years in school.
When his high school career was over, Henne threw for the third-most yards in Pennsylvania state history with 7,071 yards.
UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN
In 2004, Henne became the first true freshman to start for the Wolverines since 1975. In his first season, he tied the Michigan season record for TD passes with 25.
Henne finished his four-year career at Michigan with several school records, including pass completions (828), pass attempts (1,387), passing yards (9,715), and passing TDs (87). His passing yards ranks sixth in Big-Ten history and his passing TDs ranks second in conference history.
Henne was drafted in the second round (57th-overall) by the Dolphins in the 2008 NFL Draft.
In his second season, after San Diego Chargers linebacker Kevin Burnett injured Chad Pennington, Henne was thrown into the starting position for the rest of the season. In his first year as a starter, Henne threw for 2,878 yards and 12 TDs with 14 interceptions.
After starting the team started 0-4 to begin the 2011 NFL Season, Henne was knocked out of a game against the Chargers with dislocated shoulder and needed surgery. He missed the rest of the season.
After Miami did not resign Henne after the 2011 NFL Season, he signed a two-year deal with the Jaguars on March 14, 2012.
Henne started the final six games of the 2012 NFL Season, finishing with 2,084 yards and 11 TDs.
In six career seasons, Henne has a record of 18-32 while throwing for 12,439 yards and 55 TDs.
