Chargers' Malcom Floyd Carted Off With Serious Knee Injury
By Allen Kim
The San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd went down with what is believed to be a serious right knee injury, according to Michael Gehlken for U-T San Diego.
Floyd was reportedly down on the field for several minutes before being carted off, and teammates even gathered around him to pray for him. The injury happened during a one-on-one drill in the endzone with CB Shareece Wright.
The Chargers are already down a wide receiver with Danario Alexander out for the year following a torn ACL. Incidentally, as noted by Kevin Acee of U-T San Diego, Alexander was also injured following a collision with Wright. He just might be a bad luck charm for the Chargers’ receivers.
Floyd is a vital part of the team’s offense, and things are looking bleak for QB Phillip Rivers and Co. The Chargers offense is already in complete disarray, and losing Floyd for any amount of time would only compound things for the team. He has an MRI scheduled soon, and the extent of the damage should be revealed then.
