Chinese Super League wrap: Luneng find winning form
Apr 20, 2013 12:11 PM EST
Shandong Luneng returned to winning ways after handing Liaoning Whowin their first loss of the Chinese Super League season on Saturday.
Shandong, who won their opening four games before going down to Shanghai Shenhua last time out, accounted for Liaoning 3-1 at home.
Argentinean midfielder Leonardo Pisculichi opened the scoring for Shandong in the first minute before Wang Yongpo struck twice in the space of five minutes to stun the visitors.
Zambian forward James Chamanga pulled one back for Liaoning, though his efforts were in vain as Shandong held on for the victory.
Meanwhile, Brazilian forward Elkeson netted his second hat-trick of the season as Guangzhou Evergrande thumped Changchun Yatai 6-1 at home.
Elkeson has now scored 10 goals in just five matches since completing a move from Brazilian club Botafogo last December.
In other matches, Shanghai SIPG extended their unbeaten run to five games after beating winless Tianjin Teda 1-0 at home, while goals from Rafael Coelho and Zhang Yuan guided Guangzhou R&F to their first win of the season, 2-0 at Wuhan Zall.
