Bio

Chris Clemons is a defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played college football at the University of Georgia and was undrafted in the 2003 NFL Draft.

EARLY YEARS

Clemons was born on October 30, 1981 in Griffin, Georgia. As a senior at Griffin High School, Clemons recorded 49 tackles, six sacks, two interceptions. He was named AAA-All Region first team and was a candidate for the Regional MVP by the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association.

UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA

After being sidelined with a shoulder injury for most of his freshman season, Clemons played in 11 games (three starts) as a sophomore and made 10 starts a junior. As a junior, he had 53 tackles and one sack and was named the Most Improved Linebacker of 2002.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS

After going undrafted in the 2003 NFL Draft, Clemons signed with the Redskins, but tore his ACL during training camp. In 2004, he had three sacks in the final six games of the season.

After starting the 2005 NFL Season on the Cleveland Browns practice squad, he resigned with Washington to play in 14 games, where he had eight tackles and two sacks.

OAKLAND RAIDERS

The Raiders brought Clemons in for one season as a pass rusher. In 16 games and two starts, he had 20 tackles and eight sacks.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

In two season with the Eagles, Clemons recorded seven sacks and 26 tackles. He also had two fumble recoveries, one of which he returned for a TD.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

After being traded to the Seahawks, injuries forced Clemons into the starting lineup. Clemons recorded 11 sacks in each of his first two seasons with the team, both times he led the team in that category.

After recording a career-high 11.5 sacks in 2012, Clemons would tear his ACL in the playoffs and was forced to miss the next round.

Despite being part of the defensive line rotation for the Super Bowl winning Seahawks, Clemons was released on March 12, 2014.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

On March 13, 2014, Clemons signed a four-year contract with the Jaguars.
