Don’t let his 5-9, 195-pound frame fool you, Christian Spears is not afraid to force the run and make tackles, as evidenced by his leading the Air Force Falcons in total tackles in 2013. Has started all 25 games for Air Force the last two seasons and has recorded three interceptions and 183 tackles over that span. A respected leader on a team with a lot of them, Spears is one of the main guys in a secondary that may be the strong point for the Air Force defense in 2014.
A decorated veteran of Texas football, Spears lettered three years in football at Timberview High School in Grande Prairie, Texas. He earned all-district honors all three years and was named the district defensive sophomore MVP. He was also an all-district academic performer in high school.
Arrived at Air Force in 2011 and played on the junior varsity. In 2012, he immediately stepped into a starting role for the Falcons and was fourth on the team in tackles with 91, including six for loss. He also had a forced fumble and his first career interception. A tested veteran in 2013, he recorded 92 tackles and added two interceptions and one tackle for loss while establishing himself as a good cover guy who likes to make tackles.
