Clinton-Dix Got Loan From Assistant Strength Coach
Alabama safety HaHa Clinton-Dix, suspended indefinitely Wednesday, took a loan from an assistant coach, the Tuscaloosa News reported Thursday.
Clinton-Dix accepted a loan of less than $500 during the summer from assistant strength and conditioning coach Corey Harris, according to the report. Harris has been placed on administrative leave.
According to the report, Clinton-Dix provided bank statements to UA compliance officials showing a withdrawal in the amount he claims to have repaid Harris. An internal investigation has found no indication that Clinton-Dix ever contacted an agent.
Coach Nick Saban announced the suspension of Clinton-Dix on Wednesday without citing a reason or a timetable for a potential return.
A Yahoo! report earlier this year involving improper benefits from an agent and former offensive tackle D.J. Fluker isn't connected to the current investigation, reporter Cecil Hurt said on the Paul Finebaum radio show.
